Zion District 6 students kicked off the school year with raincoats and umbrellas, but as they entered through their school doors they were welcomed with sunshine and smiles. Not only were students greeted by excited staff, they were also greeted with positive changes to their school environment. We are excited to have students back in our schools, and were proud to learn from a satisfaction survey embedded in the school registration process for returning students that 86% of families are satisfied or extremely satisfied with the educational instruction for their child within our school district.
Planning for positive change for the 2019-2020 school year began after the winter holiday. Fresh paint, classroom restorations, increased security options, and the removal of mobile classrooms are but a few of the planned actions that transpired before student arrival on August 26th. Furthermore, increased programming now includes a full-day Preschool program, along with a Pre-K & Kindergarten Dual Language program - both of which are the only programs available within our local area. As a commitment to providing our youth with expanded experiences for learning at the Middle School level, additional programming includes culinary arts, technology, business incubator, mariachi, music, and orchestra - just to name a few.
We are excited to begin this year, and are committed to supporting the growth of our students.
